Coaching

“We are by nature observers, and thereby learners. That is our permanent state.”

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Interested in coaching? I’m not your typical counselor or life coach. I’m a life strategist. A change agent. A fixer. Here are a few things you might want to know:

I’m not concerned about your “issues” that are largely based in the past. So, while I’ll gather some initial background information, we’re not going to spend much time focusing on… your mother, for instance.

We all have fear-based thoughts that are running in the background. These come from the most primitive part of our brain (amygdala) that trigger our fight, flight or freeze response, and is often referred to as our lower brain or our reptilian brain. It processes our thinking in a way that keeps us in a continuous mental and physical stress response, poised for danger.

It doesn’t take great talent to poke someone’s lower brain stories, stirring up old thoughts and experiences about past pain and trauma! This is not my coaching style.

Rather, I want to introduce you to an understanding of the human experience in a deeper way, considering that our thinking is creating our stressful experience, and that it is all happening innocently. We aren’t initially equipped to understand how our fear-based thinking is actually creating all of our present experiences.

Everything begins to change effortlessly when we have insight into this innocent misunderstanding and that our natural state of being is wellness and happiness.

It may sound cliché, but coaching with me truly is about waking up to the totality of who you already are.

I want you to experience your life, all of it, while resisting the urge to control circumstances outside of it.

If you can entertain the idea of suspending judgements and preferences (which all come from ego), and practice letting go (I’ll explain what that really means), there is an essence or spirit that will rise up to meet your human-self right where you are.

There is a natural state of wellbeing, a Knowing, which lands as softly as a butterfly. And it is as powerful as it is, ironically, effortless.
